FireAid Highlights: Pink, Dawes, Joni Mitchell & More!

Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes performs during the FireAid Benefit Concert for California Fire Relief at The Kia Forum on Jan. 30, 2025 in Inglewood, California.

 Pink Brings the Power!
Sitting alongside guitarist Justin Derrico, Pink delivered a soul-stirring What About Us, her voice brimming with emotion as she held a hand to her heart. “I’m keeping my feet on the ground tonight,” she told the crowd before launching into a raw, gritty cover of Janis Joplin’s Bobby McGee. But it was her electrifying take on Led Zeppelin’s Babe I’m Gonna Leave You that stole the show—her soaring vocals nearly knocked Derrico off his stool during the song’s explosive moments!

🎸 Dawes Unites with Rock Legends
L.A. natives Dawes honored their fire-ravaged hometown with Time Spent in Los Angeles before welcoming Stephen Stills, Mike Campbell (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers), and Graham Nash onstage. Stills and Campbell shredded through an epic jam of For What It’s Worth, before Nash joined in for a moving performance of Crosby, Stills & Nash’s Teach Your Children. “Whenever L.A. needs us, musicians are there,” Nash told the crowd.

🎤 Joni Mitchell Brings the Tears
Seated regally in a black velvet pantsuit, hat, and sunglasses, Joni Mitchell stunned with a deeply felt Both Sides Now. At 81, her haunting delivery of “something’s lost and something’s gained in living every day” sent shivers through the crowd, enhanced by a rich tenor saxophone accompaniment.

This concert is one for the history books! Stay tuned for more epic moments.

FireAid Heats Up with Anderson .Paak, Dr. Dre, Green Day & Alanis Morissette!

Anderson .Paak, Free Nationals & Sheila E. Bring the Funk!
Rocking a Koreatown hoodie, Anderson .Paak kept the energy high, pounding the drums for Put Me Thru while engaging in an electrifying drum-off with legend Sheila E., who high-kicked atop her percussion setup. “Our hearts go out to everyone, but this is one of the greatest nights in L.A. history,” .Paak declared before leading a wave-along to Come Down.

Then came the biggest moment—Dr. Dre hit the stage to deafening cheers, dropping Still D.R.E. and an unexpected California Love collab with .Paak, as Sheila E. sent her cymbal stand flying across the stage!

Green Day Kicks Off with a Surprise Guest!
Opening with a stripped-down Last Night on Earth, Billie Joe Armstrong was joined mid-song by none other than Billie Eilish! (even though she was set to perform at Intuit Dome later). The two Billies harmonized as images of fire rescue efforts filled the screens.

Their set also featured Still Breathing and a fired-up When I Come Around, with Armstrong shouting out California towns hit by the wildfires—“We are in this together!” he yelled.
