Actors Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut revealed the 2025 nominees, with the musical Emilia Pérez leading the pack with 10 nominations.
Former Nickelodeon star Ariana Grande earned a nomination for Wicked, while former Disney star Selena Gomez received nods for both Emilia Pérez and her Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
The 82nd Golden Globe Awards brought several surprises, including Pamela Anderson’s nomination for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in The Last Showgirl. In recent years, fans have called for more recognition of Anderson’s acting talents, following years of her being objectified and overlooked in her career.
Another surprise came with Jamie Foxx’s nomination for Best Performance in a Stand-Up Special for Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was, debuting on Netflix this Tuesday. Foxx faces tough competition in this category from Nikki Glaser, who will also host the Golden Globes ceremony.
Hollywood icons Viola Davis and Ted Danson will receive the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award and Carol Burnett Award, respectively.
The 2025 Golden Globes will air live on January 5, broadcast on CBS and streaming on Paramount+.
