“Hollywood Jewish Group Slams Pro-Gaza Pins at Oscars as ‘Emblems of Jewish Bloodshed’!”

A pro-Jewish Hollywood activist group is pushing back against efforts to promote pro-Gaza pins at the Oscars, calling them symbols of “Jewish bloodshed.”

The Brigade, a coalition of over 700 filmmakers, PR professionals, and studio executives supporting Israel after Hamas’ October 7 attack, condemned the initiative led by Artists4Ceasefire. The pro-Palestinian group has been encouraging industry figures to wear red pins at awards shows, including Sunday’s Academy Awards.

In a public statement, The Brigade declared, “Today, we will not be silent. That pin is no symbol of peace. It is the emblem of Jewish bloodshed.”

Their response came after Deadline obtained and redacted part of an email from an Artists4Ceasefire representative urging Hollywood figures to wear the pins and sign a letter advocating for a ceasefire. The email surfaced on the same day Israeli authorities confirmed the deaths of children Kfir and Ariel Bibas, reportedly killed by Hamas.

The dispute highlights growing tensions in Hollywood over the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict as both sides vie for symbolic representation on the industry’s biggest stage.

The remains of Shiri Bibas, a mother of two killed while held hostage in Gaza, have allegedly been returned to Israel following what Israeli officials say was a broken promise by Hamas.

Shiri, her husband Yarden, and their two children—10-month-old Kfir and 4-year-old Ariel—were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7. Yarden was the only one to survive captivity. On February 20, the terror group reportedly transferred the bodies of the Bibas family and other hostages to Israel.

In response, The Brigade, a pro-Israel Hollywood group, condemned the timing of a pro-Gaza pin campaign by Artists4Ceasefire. Their statement read:

“On Feb. 20, the same day the world learned 10-month-old Kfir Bibas and his 4-year-old brother Ariel were strangled to death by their terrorist captors in Gaza, you doubled down—urging celebrities to proudly wear your bloodstained red hand pin. Have you no shame?”

The statement also criticized the design of the pin, comparing it to a violent image from a 2000 attack in Ramallah, where Palestinian terrorists lynched two Israeli men and held up their blood-soaked hands to a cheering crowd.

Artists4Ceasefire has defended the pin’s symbolism, stating that the red background represents the urgency of saving lives, the orange hand signifies unity across backgrounds, and the heart in the center reflects a call to lead with love.

Despite the controversy, several Hollywood stars, including Billie Eilish and Mark Ruffalo, wore the pins during the 2024 Academy Awards, further fueling debate over the issue.
